Job Title: Global Human Trafficking Laws Summer Internship 2023
Job level: This is an unpaid, volunteer internship.
Job Stage: Current
Applications: Open until filled, reviewed on a rolling basis.
About the position:
The Warnath Group (WG) curates a publicly available archive of national human trafficking laws from every country in the world as well as other applicable international legal instruments. The volunteer intern will identify and locate this year’s newly enacted laws, and, identify and locate additional resources and multilateral instruments to grow the collection. The intern will have an opportunity to research and read the new laws, and ask questions and discuss with WG staff.
Responsibilities:
The intern will:
- Use the forthcoming U.S. Department of State Office to Monitor and Combat Human Trafficking’s Trafficking in Persons Report (2023), among other resources, to determine which countries enacted new anti-human trafficking law(s) within the last year, and locate multilateral instruments and conventions, and additional resources to be added to the collection.
- Locate copies of the new law(s), conventions, instruments, and resources through online open source search.
- Assist with the publication of these documents on the Warnath Group website to support global anti-human trafficking work.
- Draft social media content on the laws collection.
We would like the intern to begin the research after the release of the Trafficking in Persons Report, which usually occurs at the end of June. We will establish a specific work schedule with the intern that is mutually beneficial, and that will allow the project to be completed by the end of the summer.
If the intern would like to submit the work done on this project for academic credit, arrangements must be made with your school program and The Warnath Group prior to starting the internship.
Qualifications:
