The Warnath Group, with contributions from Al Moskowitz, former Civil Rights Division Chief at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and former Regional Prosecutions Advisor at the Australia-Asia Program to Combat Trafficking in Persons (AAPTIP), published a knowledge sharing paper designed to assist prosecutor trial preparation for human trafficking cases.

This practice guide, titled “Prosecutor Trial Preparation – Direct Examination Questions for the Victim” provides actionable techniques and guidelines for prosecutors to consider when preparing an orderly and logical direct examination of the victim in trafficking in persons cases.  The victim is the only witness in a TIP case who can tell the full story of the trafficking crime, making the direct examination critical to a successful case.

“Prosecutor Trial Preparation – Direct Examination Questions for the Victim” is part of the continuing Prosecutor Trial Preparation series designed to equip prosecutors around the world with actionable knowledge and skills to successfully try human trafficking cases.
