In early 2022, Warnath Group commenced working with community-based multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) in Costa Rica, called Local Subsystems of Protection (SSLPs), to strengthen the protection of child and adolescent trafficking victims in Guanacaste and Puntarenas provinces. Through the IACT Program, Warnath Group is providing tailored training and technical assistance to MDT practitioners to enhance their ability to preliminarily identify and refer child and adolescent trafficking victims for formal identification and assistance by the Immediate Response Team (ERI) and through the National Coalition Against the Smuggling of Migrants and Trafficking in Persons (CONATT) referral mechanism.

From March 2-4, Warnath Group conducted trainings with MDT practitioners in the cantons of Golfito, Corredores, and Puerto Jiménez. These training sessions focused on common barriers and challenges in the identification of child trafficking victims in their local communities and how to overcome these constraints, including innovative strategies in their daily work.

IACT Program Technical Specialists facilitate the training with the SSLP Golfito on May 2.

IACT Program Technical Specialists facilitate the training with the SSLP Puerto Jiménez on May 3.
