As part of the IACT Program being implemented in the provinces of Guanacaste and Puntarenas, in May and June 2023, Warnath Group trained a total of 225 9-1-1 operators in Costa Rica to enhance their ability to identify and assist child and adolescent trafficking victims. The trainings covered the concept of trafficking in persons, with a focus on child and adolescent sex trafficking, the importance of preliminary identification, the role of 9-1-1 operators in the preliminary identification of child and adolescent trafficking victims, and the application of different indicators of child and adolescent trafficking to real world scenarios faced by 9-1-1 operators.

The IACT Program is funded through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of State Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (J/TIP).

IACT Program trainings with 9-1-1 operators were held on May 2, May 9, May 16, May 22, May 30, June 6, June 13, and June 20.
